Angie Stone Funeral Celebration Of Life Service 😭
Angie Stone's friends and family have multiple opportunities to celebrate her historic life ... multiple services were planned for the legend -- and, the guest lists of both are star-studded.
The singer-songwriter is being honored in two separate ceremonies ... one on Friday, March 14 in Atlanta and another the following day in Columbia, South Carolina -- Angie's hometown.
Tyler Perry, Kirk Franklin, Anthony Hamilton, Keke Wyatt, Tamela Mann, Y'Anna Crawley, Musiq SoulChild, Q. Parker and Stout are just a few of the bold-faced names who are speaking and performing at Stone's services.
As we told you ... the plan was always to have two ceremonies for Angie -- a big public event in ATL and a smaller, more intimate ceremony in South Carolina.
A public memorial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Austell. A private ceremony for close family and friends will take place Saturday in her hometown of Columbia, South Carolina

Stone, 63, was leaving a performance in Mobile, Alabama, when the van carrying her and members of her crew was involved in a collision on Interstate 65. Stone was the only person killed in the crash.
A pioneer in R&B and hip-hop, Stone was a member of the all-female rap trio The Sequence, known for their 1979 hit "Funk You Up." She later joined the music groups Mantronix and Vertical Hold and provided backing vocals for Lenny Kravitz’s fifth studio album in 1998.
Beyond music, Stone also had an acting career. She made her film debut in the 2002 comedy The Hot Chick and starred as Big Mama Morton in the Broadway musical Chicago in 2003. She also appeared in "Ride Along" in 2014 with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube and had several small TV roles. Additionally, she appeared on "Celebrity Fit Club" in 2006.
In 2021, she received the Soul Music Icon Award at the Black Music Honors. Most recently, in 2024, she was the featured vocalist on Damon Little’s "No Stressing."
Stone recorded 10 studio albums during her career. Her most recent album, "Love Language," was released in 2023, according to New York Times.
Stone lived in Stockbridge, where she was honored by the Stockbridge City Council on Monday night. She is survived by her two children, Diamond and Michael.
Rest in power queen

SAN FRANCISCO - The number of black women in Silicon Valley is small. For some, it means suffering through racial stereotyping - not being able to fully be themselves, explains Kenya Hayes, a veteran Valley executive, now head of comms for North America at AppsFlyer, in this interview with Beet.TV
Wanting to be productive, but self filtering what she says, is exhausting and frustrating. Passion and dedication can be seen as intimidating or aggressive, she notes.
Hayes, who has worked at Rocket Fuel, YuMe and Criteo, urges the industry to put black woman and menin leadership positions, where they are way under represented.
This video is part of an ongoing Beet.TV series of interviews with men and and women of color, addressing their personal experiences and hopes for essential change addressing racial inequality. Please find additional videos here.
Meet Barbara Haley-Steele, co-founder of BayNet the premier business networking group that later became First Friday. In this short video Barbara outlines the main focus of BayNet and how it was developed.
Before There Was Bill Gates, There Was Roy Clay!
The "Black Godfather" of Silicon Valley, Roy Clay helped to design HP's first computer.
Working as a computer programmer for what is now known as Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Roy Clay wrote software that showed how radiation particles would spread after above-ground nuclear explosions. He is a pioneer in the industry, here he discusses and shares a bit about his past.

🔥 WALLO’s viral clip about Black-owned businesses really stirred the pot, and I’m loving the conversation it’s creating. 🔥
Excellence is key—we don’t want pity purchases, we want loyal customers who choose us because we’re the best. 👏🏾 It’s about earning their trust and building a brand that speaks for itself. 💯
But why do we get shamed for saying Black-owned when other communities proudly support their own? 🧐
In this clip, @liajones shares how she’s seen an uptick in support, and instead of just coasting, she’s doubling down on marketing and customer experience to build long-lasting loyalty. 🔥
We’re here to build businesses that are legacies, not charity cases. Let’s be the best—and still be proud to be Black-owned. 💪🏾
