Amid the global health crisis, several initiatives have been unveiled to support Black-owned businesses that have been significantly impacted.
Among the efforts is one being led by Google. .
The technology company announced it will donate $2.35 million to Black-owned, Atlanta-based tech companies, BET reported.
The donation is a part of a larger initiative launched by Google called the Black Founders Fund. .

We're concerned about the state of the Atlanta Black Tech community. There's more Black people than ever before in tech around Metro Atlanta (ex. many people moved here over the last 2 years), but we aren't as connected as we used to be - especially coming off the COVID-19 pandemic.
This presents an unnerving environment where startup founders are being led astray, tech workers don't get the advice and jobs they need and deserve, and K-12/college students don't realize their potential because of lack of opportunities.
